Yes. All Zilgi jewellery is made from genuine 925 sterling silver, which means it contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy for durability. Our pieces are BIS-hallmarked and certified for purity, so you can verify authenticity on every item. We do not sell silver-plated or imitation jewellery.

Does 925 silver tarnish or turn black?

925 sterling silver can develop a dull or darkened appearance over time due to a natural chemical reaction with sulphur in the air — this is called tarnish, not rust, and it does not damage the silver. It is easy to remove by gently rubbing with a soft microfibre cloth or a mild silver-cleaning paste. To slow tarnishing, store your Zilgi jewellery in the pouch provided, away from moisture, perfume, and direct sunlight.
